  • 3cups all purpose flour
  • 1tbsp baking powder
  • 1tsp salt
  • 8tbsp butterchilled and diced into small cubes
  • 1 1/8cups milk
  • 1cup cheddar cheeseshredded
  • 1/2cup Canadian bacondiced (or any type of ham)
  • 1/2 large oniondiced
  1. Preheat oven to 400F
  2. In a large mixing bowl combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter with pastry cutter (or the tines of a fork).
  3. Add milk and mix until just incorporated. Stir in cheese, ham and onion.
  4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently for several minutes.
  5. Press dough into a 1 1/2″ thick circle. Cut into 8 wedges and place wedges on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Recipe Notes

*Cardinal Rule* If dough is too dry and you are unable to incorporate all the dry ingredients, add more milk one tablespoon at a time until it is all combined.
